As part of City & Guilds Kineo's global growth ambitions, we plan to further build our leadership position in learning design. To enable that, we’re looking for a Head of Learning Design.  You’ll need be a proven thought leader, and a team leader. You’ll be passionate about learning design – of course. You’ll have the insight and energy insights to take the leading brand for learning design to the next level.

Ready to take on a large portfolio of key clients and keen to take a step up from project and programme management? Then this could be the role for you. As Projects Director you’ll head up one of our “Pods” – our self-sufficient production teams specialising in elearning and other learning content. You’ll be setting strategy, direction and objectives for the team and for the individuals you manage. In addition a key part of the role is to actively support our account managers during initial proposal through to project implementation.

Working alongside two other Projects Directors you'll regularly meet for operational and developmental activities. As this is an extremely varied role, we're looking for someone who is comfortable with key responsibilities in team management, production, budgets and more.

Our growing team in Brighton is looking for someone who can drive a model enabling us to meet flexible resource needs of the business, ensuring a suitable pipeline of people is available to work on our wide range of e-learning, L&D, and LMS projects.

You’ll be working with the teams to help them find the right resources and suppliers for their projects, and going out and meeting potential suppliers – freelancers, contractors, outsource partners – and matching them to our needs. These might be writers, art directors, programmers, web developers, translation companies, or voice over artists - as well as the unexpected. You'll also work with our HR team to support our recruitment. If you’re a people person, with a commercial focus, who enjoys problem solving, this is a great opportunity to get involved in all parts of our business, including liaising with our teams in the US and Pacific.

We have a great opportunity for a Marketing Apprentice to join the fast-paced Marketing team at City & Guilds Kineo.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of skills, learning the ins and outs of Marketing whilst studying for a City & Guilds Level 3 Marketing Apprenticeship Qualification,

The Hosting & Support (Services) division at City & Guilds Kineo is growing quickly, now supporting over 100 clients worldwide. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and talented Application Engineer to join the team and provide technical support across a broad range of installations.

Day-to-day you’ll be providing clients and internal teams with high quality technical support, focusing on Totara LMS. We pride ourselves on the first-class service we offer our customers.

You will take a proactive approach towards the correct implementation of process and security controls, ensuring the stability and effectiveness of sites we manage. You will fulfill a key role that will help place City & Guilds Kineo as the default choice for global Totara hosting and support.

You’ll be joining a friendly team, working out of our Brighton HQ in close collaboration with our Sales, Learning Content and Learning Platforms teams.

Note: this role may involve an element of shift work, to provide extended hours cover when required.

We are looking for someone with drive and an aptitude to learn and succeed; both will be paramount to your position within our highly motivated team.

Essential Skills:

  • Client-facing support desk experience in a technical discipline
  • Strong customer service focus and mentality, with excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to manage your time and work priorities, whilst under pressure
  • Ability to manage ambiguity
  • Intelligent approach to identifying and solving technical problems, with a proactive, can-do attitude and ability to think laterally
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Understanding of open source software, development and communities
  • Technical background in administering and configuring web applications

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and Content Management Systems (CMSs)
  • Linux based server build, maintenance and monitoring (LAMP/LAPP/LNMP/LNPP)
  • Experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration
  • Experience in graphics software, such as Adobe’s Photoshop
  • User Interface languages: DHTML/XHTML, CSS

We're looking for experienced learning consultants and designers (both freelance and permanent) to support or growing consultancy and design team in a varied mix of consultancy assignments and design projects. We'd love to hear from you if you're looking for new opportunities to help customers find great solutions, and work with us in using exciting new technologies.

For the Designer roles:

  • You’ll work consultatively with clients, our sales team, and the learning content/elearning team
  • Precise duties and responsibilities will vary according to your experience and particular role but include scoping content, designing treatments, and scriptwriting
  • At least 1 year's experience of elearning and/or virtual classroom design is required
  • Strong communication skills are essential

For the Consultant roles:

  • You'll work consultatively with clients, our sales team and the learning content/elearning team, providing strategic advice and setting projects up for success
  • At least 3 year's experience of elearning and blended design is required

The Solutions Consultant role is the key to City & Guilds Kineo’s successful relationships with clients, because our client relationships start with you.

You’ll be the person who goes to see our existing and prospective clients, to understand their challenges and goals. You’ll put the ideas together for how we can partner to meet those challenges and then you’ll present the proposed solution to win the opportunity to make it our next new project. You’ll work with our production teams to ensure they’re involved during the process – and you’ll stay involved to ensure successful delivery to our client’s objectives. 

It’s a sales role - you will have a target, and you’ll be well rewarded for achieving it and going beyond it. But we don’t want just ‘traditional salespeople’. We want people who are passionate about learning and technology, and who ideally have first-hand experience of designing, developing, managing and implementing solutions. 

You’ll be great at communicating, both in proposals and pitches, and at tradeshows and marketing events. Ideally you will know the elearning and/or the LMS industry well, and will build relationships within it. You’ll be competitive and be thrilled by winning new opportunities to work with our clients. You’ll be great at building relationships with clients and making them feel loved.
