We are looking for a highly creative, self-starting individual to join our highly skilled and award winning team. You'll help us deliver great elearning solutions to our clients across our wide range of products and contribute to the art direction standards and vision at City & Guilds Kineo.

You’ll have the opportunity to create art direction and animations for an array of clients such as Diageo, Heineken, John Lewis Partnership, TUI, PepsiCo, the list goes on!

It will be your job to interpret our clients’ branding requirements, creating user interface designs and a compelling look and feel for a variety of projects. You’ll work closely with the client, taking briefs and presenting your ideas to them where necessary.

You’ll line manage a team of Graphic Designers and work with them on their personal development and business objectives. You’ll also be accountable for the quality of their work and ensure their workload is effectively and efficiently managed.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be an imaginative and forward thinking team player, who will bring creativity and a fresh perspective to the table. Proactivity in problem solving and communication, as well as the ability to progressively develop ideas, will come naturally to you. You’ll enjoy using pencils and paper to quickly illustrate ideas, and have a good eye for layout and typography.

You will work closely with top class developers and will have a flexible and accommodating approach to design, with the ability to animate with ease. Above all, you will be organised enough to make time to make tea for your colleagues!

The following experience will also be key:

  • Proven experience of graphic design in a digital medium and in a commercial and corporate context
  • Evidence of a strong portfolio of work demonstrating a range of different styles and treatments
  • Able to take and deliver briefs, creating concepts at a high level consistently across a multitude of applications
  • Familiar with working to fixed budgets and timeframes

London-based

We are looking to recruit a full-time Customer Executive based in London in order to support and accelerate business growth within the public sector customer group.

The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent customer support and account management to the City & Guilds Kineo Public Sector Employers. You will be required to manage own caseload for customers within the public sector and provide sales and customer support the Public Sector  Manager across the UK in order to develop new business within the sector.

You will be required to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of City & Guilds’ products and IT systems to enable an accurate and responsive service to the public sector employer clients, including MoD, NHS, Police Service, Government Departments and Local Councils.

You will need to be commercially aware and have a strong sales drive in order to identify and develop new revenue streams within the public sector and maintain current business.

You will be required to have experience or develop knowledge of commercial procurement systems and tendering process in order to search and identify new tender opportunities and provide bid support to the public sector team.

The role will involve:

  • Providing a first point of contact for customers, resolving a range of queries and providing advice in line with the customer charter
  • Supporting the Customer Manager with Sales related activities, including telesales to identify new business opportunities.
  • Managing identified customer accounts with identified sales targets to maintain and grow business
  • Supporting bid submissions and marketing plans for the public sector
  • Searching and identifying new business opportunities via regular monitoring of procurement sites and tendering portals
  • Participation of sales events.

You’ll have an understanding of current developments and methodologies in education, and training for example assessment and product design.

You’ll have an ability to understand and translate customer requirements into fit for purpose propositions and solutions which fulfil their needs.  This will include an understanding of the full flexibilities that solutions can be tailored and still comply with Ofqual and other regulatory requirements.

You’ll bring an understanding of vocational education developments including funding, quality, regulation and Learning Technologies.

What will you be doing?

As Head of Testing and Quality Assurance, you will provide industry leading testing services across our Learning Content, Learning Platforms and Client Services teams. Your regular tasks will include the following:

  • Defining and implementing best practice in the testing and quality assurance teams, driving continuous improvement
  • Taking the lead role in ensuring best practice in accessibility and usability
  • Taking accountability for commercial performance of the testing and quality assurance teams, including utilisation of staff and delivery of services within budgets
  • Leading the creation of professional test documentation for both internal and external clients, ensuring content and quality meet accepted industry standards
  • Acting as gatekeeper for ensuring all client deliverables are fit-for-purpose, consistently meeting quality and performance requirements; this includes software releases, learning module scripts, visual design work and documentation
  • Taking a lead role in provision of testing on larger projects, as required
  • Recruiting, managing and developing a team of skilled testing professionals, equipped with the knowledge and tools required to provide an industry-leading testing and quality assurance service
  • Monitoring the ongoing testing resource requirements of each business function, ensuring timely availability of test team personnel
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of ongoing training and development for test team personnel, maintaining expert knowledge of testing tools, methodologies and practices
  • Acting as primary escalation point for clients and colleagues, ensuring all testing and quality assurance related questions or concerns are acted upon efficiently and professionally, within agreed SLAs (as applicable)

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented developer who has a good grounding in programming principles and best practice. You will have at least a years experience working on software development projects, with a good understanding of server side programming using PHP 5 and OOP, but also XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL/PostreSQL. Above all, you’ll be passionate about technology and eager to develop your skills with a leading employer in the learning and performance industry.

It would be a bonus if you had any following experience -

  • Knowledge of; Moodle and/or other Open Source technologies
  • Git for version control
