A Year of Growth for Kineo Pacific

2015 has been an amazing year for Kineo Pacific. We’ve had challenges, excitement, fun, busy periods with no end in sight, a lot of laughs and the odd tear or two. We’ve said goodbye to colleagues (friends) who’ve moved on to other endeavours; we’ve welcomed new members to the team who are now part of the family. We’ve worked with many awesome clients and won a few awards along the way; and, to be fair, we’ve had a few difficult projects where we’ve learned a thing or two.


2015 also saw us kick off an ambitious 3 year strategy for growth. We dove in head first by acquiring our friends, Nine Lanterns, in Melbourne. The acquisition is huge for us as it nearly triples the size of our team in Australia and gives us additional technical capability through the Nine Lanterns' Platforms team. The talent and culture of Nine Lanterns could not be a better fit for Kineo Pacific. Whilst we’ve only just started planning for the integration of the teams, we’re already winning joint projects, forming close working relationships and supporting each other with back office functions.

In addition to the acquisition of Nine Lanterns, 2015 has also seen the transfer of City & Guilds Pacific office from City & Guilds International to Kineo Pacific. While the City & Guilds Pacific team is small, they punch well above their weight across the region, providing City & Guilds qualifications and accreditation services to a range of clients. With their transfer to Kineo Pacific, they’ll be able to leverage our local marketing, sales and business support functions, and we’ll be able to add their services to what we offer – creating an end-to-end solution of online training development, delivery and a globally recognized qualification or accreditation as the end result.

This year also saw a major milestone for the Wellington-based team. Two weeks ago, Wellington moved in to its new, purpose designed office at Kordia House. It’s a beautiful, spacious, modern and highly functional space. For the first time in a very long time, the Wellington team have enough space for everyone to be in the office at the same time, with room to spare. It has several meeting rooms, break-out spaces, collaboration areas and a great kitchen/break area that includes, finally, a proper coffee machine!

A Strong Finish to the Year

And as 2015 comes to a close, we haven’t been slowing down. Along with working hard with clients to finish deliverables before the holidays kick in, we recently gathered together in Wellington all 50+ of our team from across New Zealand and Australia to kick off the integration of the Nine Lanterns, Kineo Pacific and City & Guilds Pacific teams – a very exciting time of change, opportunity and growth. Bring on 2016!
