City & Guilds Kineo’s new Safeguarding Training makes quality compliance easy

City & Guilds Kineo has launched new training in 'Safeguarding young people from harm, abuse and exploitation’.  All government funded training centres, including those in private companies, are now required by Ofsted to have proven safeguarding training.  City & Guilds Kineo has responded with a high quality curriculum and complementary elearning that trainers can trust.

The one unit, 12 hour City & Guilds qualification, features expertly crafted modules on the concept of safeguarding, roles and responsibilities and the relevant legislation.  City & Guilds Kineo offers a full set of support materials or can help employers to develop their own syllabus.

The EssentialsPlus elearning module, deliverable through a range of devices, can work in tandem with the qualification, or on its own like other specialist CPD training.  Both have been designed by subject matter experts to embed thinking about young people’s safety into both the workplace and learning environments.

Delivered through our high quality content and cutting edge learning system, EssentialsPlus, the elearning perfectly blends City & Guilds’ 130 years of qualification experience with City & Guilds Kineo’s renowned learning technology expertise.

These specially created training solutions will help employers to manage and train staff to the new leadership requirements included in the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework applicable from September 2015.

Course content can support vocational learning by:

  • assisting HR and training managers to manage and train to the new requirements found under leadership management in the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework from September 2015
  • assisting with developing an inclusive culture to encourage the recruitment and retention of staff
  • enhancing individual staff members’ awareness of safeguarding issues.

Everyone takes responsibility for the safety of others both in the workplace and learning environment, so this programme is relevant and available to all.

Is this just for the UK or does it cover global legislation

Georgina Taylor | 13th November, 2015

Hi Neil, thanks for getting in touch. To answer your question yes, our new Safeguarding course does mention UK legislations and more specifically this course is applicable to English law. However the course also covers more general topics like understanding safeguarding and discussing inclusive cultures. The course gives universal advice on how to respond effectively to safeguarding issues and therefore the overarching themes would be applicable in any location. We offer customers the opportunity to trial our courses to fully understand whether the content will be appropriate for their audience, so I would recommend doing that here: hope this helps.
