So you've read through the Learning Insights Report outlining the 10 Trends for 2014. You joined the Kineo eLearning Professionals Group, and shared your own practical tips on how to apply those trends to the workplace. City & Guilds Kineo, Elearning Compay of the Year and headline sponsors of the 2014 Learning Technologies Conference, is proud to announce the lucky winner!
Contest entrants responded with some great practical tips. Ranging from pervasive learning with learner derived media manipulation, to tips on how to build a nurturing, controlled environment to support empathy in learners. Ultimately, there could only be one winner (in an alternate universe, everyone's a winner).
City & Guilds Kineo would like to congratulate Alan Brown, who will be attending the LT14 Conference with a ticket valued at £1095 + VAT, coutesy of City & Guilds Kineo.
The winning tip definitely wowed the team on how to make informal learning less chaotic, plus, who can say no to a lego analogy? Take a look at Alan's response below:
"Think about informal learning as a box of Lego. Spread out across the floor it instantly looks like chaos, mix of colours, mix of shapes and not forgetting the danger of standing on a piece in the middle of the night when you are barefoot. However, the beauty of Lego is that each piece has a purpose which can be connected to other pieces in multiple ways. Informal learning should be viewed on the same perspective, you should promote the concept as a multi-solution and blended opportunity to use in individual blocks, to connect content as a wider solution or let others explore and build their own development path. As the structure of informal learning grow within your organisation the concept will introduce social connection as the learners share, adapt and expand their development plans."
Well said Alan, we hope you enjoy your free pass to the Learning Technologies 2014 Conference!
