The Football Association: A Large-Scale LMS Implementation Success Story

Football Association logo-1Large-scale learning management system (LMS) implementations can be daunting. There’s a lot to consider, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. With the continued rise of remote working and business expansion beyond country borders, organisations face some big challenges when it comes to getting it right. So, where do you start?

Here at City & Guilds Kineo, we’re well versed in supporting clients with successful, large-scale LMS implementations. We work with clients across the globe to create on-brand, immersive learning portals, and have recently been recognised as the “Totara Top Partner 2014”.

Beautiful Game, Beautiful LMS

The Football Association (FA) came to us with a rather big challenge. Having been established for over 150 years, they operate and deliver certifications to coaches throughout the UK and have over 275,000 users throughout Europe.

They came to us seeking a sleek, single sign-on LMS solution that would enable learners to get certified, as well as integrate with their website, CRM and ecommerce site.  On top of that, they needed to migrate over 500,000 historical records.

Easy, right?

Working closely with The FA, we designed, delivered and implemented a bespoke Totara LMS that not only met all of their complex needs, but also upheld their professional brand image through a beautiful design and streamlined user interfaces.

Think Big

Phase one of the delivery for this custom Totara LMS has just gone live, and we’re already excited about the impact it’s making. The FA are so pleased with the results that they’ve agreed to join me in sharing their story in a free seminar session at Learning Technologies.

Join me and Darren Sandbach, Digital Learning Manager at The FA, as we take a deep-dive into the success behind The FA’s new portal and explore, in detail, some of the challenges that are inherent to large-scale implementations, including:

  • The successes and key pain points of delivering large scale implementation with over 275,000 users across Europe
  • How a collaborative approach was vital to delivering this project successfully
  • How we worked to integrate different systems including single sign-on, CRM and purchasing to create a seamless user experience

If you couldn't join us at Learning Technologies this year, you can still access all the resources from the seminar sessions. View and download your copy of the slides
