Last Friday marked the third day of Talent 2017 – a skills festival for the digital sector, powered by Wired Sussex.
As a company that’s all about helping people develop their skills, to help support them in their future careers (something I know from personal experience) Kineo jumped at the chance to get involved.
A day in the digital industry
The third day of this festival was experience day. It offered a chance for young people to get some hands-on experience into what working in the digital industry actually looks like. Kineo was proud to be a part of the festivity this year and welcomed students from City College and apprentice candidates from DV8 for two digital sessions.
The first session was an introduction into the digital learning industry - sharing who we are and what we do. It was then time for the students to become the teacher. Scenario based mini tasks such as putting a project team together gave the students exposure into what roles within the product team look like. The students also formed focus groups and devised campaign ideas to promote a piece of learning to potential clients.
Creative thinking was the agenda for session two. That’s something we do a lot of at Kineo, and we live by the mantra of ‘no idea is a bad one’. The activities gave the students a chance to provide some fresh ideas and inspirations to our production teams.
The day was enjoyed by all and we hope to the see some of the students working with us at Kineo in the next few years.
