Discover How to Engage Tech-Savvy Learners at LearnTech 2016

“The Times They are a-Changin’”, as Bob Dylan once sang. Well one thing is for sure, technology and the way we use it certainly hasn’t stood still!

When it comes to learning management systems and learning technologies, the pace of change has been slower than the world of web and apps, but nevertheless, times are changing.

LMS in a Changing Digital World

More and more at City & Guilds Kineo, we're getting involved in learning projects that don't fit the old model. Take Samsung Backstage for example; this is a project aimed at 20-34 year olds working in phone shops and department stores – basically anyone selling Samsung phones, tablets, wearables, etc. These people are tech savvy, love their phones, and get a kick out of making the sale. If you were to so much as mention ‘learning management systems’, they’d probably run a mile! They use smartphones and tablets as their primary means of accessing online content and are used to great looking websites and social networking sites; no dusty old LMS for these people.

Working closely with iris Worldwide, Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland’s creative marketing agency, we created Samsung Backstage. Built on Totara LMS, Samsung Backstage provides product knowledge, competitions and social content to users; all within a fully-responsive design using adaptive layouts optimised across desktop, tablet and smartphone. Samsung Backstage doesn’t just work well, it also looks fabulous!

Want to find out more? We’ll be presenting Samsung Backstage at Learning Technologies 2016. Come along and see how we’re engaging tech-savvy learners with a next-generation learning platform.
