Kineo, now part of the City & Guilds Group, will reveal how it is working with clients to effectively engage learners at this week’s eLearning Network event. The one day conference, being held in London on Friday 17 May, will explore ‘Marketing in elearning’.
The eLearning Network is taking a case study approach to showing how effective communications can help elearning projects succeed. From generating awareness of new learning initiative, to the actual launch and to keeping the momentum going throughout the life of the project.
Kineo will present a session that demonstrates how even compliance elearning can become popular in organisations. Based on its award-winning project with Warner Bros, the presentation will highlight that marketing principles can be used to successfully drive the adoption of learning initiatives. By taking a campaign-led approach, the project created a pair of characters that were used across a number of internal channels to raise awareness about an important compliance issue; data protection.
Stephen Walsh, Director of Kineo comments, “We have been using a marketing based approach to supporting elearning initiatives for a while now. Marketing professionals are in the persuasion business and can help L&D professionals understand how to stimulate demand and get people excited about elearning – even if it’s a compliance subject like data protection.”

Usually this means that there is good learning content involved, presented in an interesting way with maybe with a nod to some interactivity. But the volume of information that hits most workers today means they can easily miss internal communications and might not even know your content exists.
