The City & Guilds Group has acquired Kineo South Africa, a franchise of Kineo based in Cape Town. The franchise will become part of City & Guilds Kineo, which helps organisations to improve their people and performance through learning and technology.
This follows City & Guilds Group’s acquisition of Kineo in 2012 and the addition of Kineo Pacific in 2013.
Matt Johnson, Managing Director of City & Guilds Kineo said: ‘Since joining the City & Guilds Group we have been dedicated to building a world-class offer for employers, combining a rich history in skills development with innovation in learning technology. This acquisition will help us to broaden our impact and capacity in this important market and continue to improve our service to businesses globally.’
Kineo opened an office in South Africa in 2011 to support clients across sub-Saharan Africa. The team in Cape Town will continue to be led by Managing Director Mike Cawood.
Responding to the news, Mike said: ‘We are excited to be joining the City & Guilds Group. I feel passionate about how we can continue to make a difference for individuals and organisations using learning technology.’
Speaking of the acquisition Chris Jones, Chief Executive of the City & Guilds Group, said: ‘As a global leader in skills development, we’re always looking to expand our expertise and international footprint. I am very pleased to welcome the team into the wider Group. This is a fantastic next step for City & Guilds Kineo.’
Kineo South Africa has already worked closely with City & Guilds Kineo on a number of projects including its new off-the-shelf, multi-device training solution EssentialsPlus.
