In 2007, Cable&Wireless was a business going through the first half of their transformation journey. This transformation meant new levels of responsiveness to its customers. To deliver on those challenging key business and customer requirements, Cable&Wireless needed a new model for e-learning delivery – one that could provide rapid response, high quality and cost-effectiveness.

To achieve this C&W chose to partner with Kineo, the leaders in rapid e-learning, to collaborate with its internal team to develop new ways to address business requirements. The smart approach to rapid e-learning that has emerged is helping to transform learning in Cable&Wireless. 

Kineo and Cable&Wireless have published the results as an e-learning case study 'Smart Thinking for a Rapid Approach to E-learning". The case study sets out how Kineo & Cable&Wireless worked together to create a cost-effective solution to a product knowledge challenge.

Mike Booth commented: “C&W is a highly experienced with bespoke e-learning and we were very familiar with the typical timescales and per-hour costs for traditional bespoke models. It was clear that the conditions of the project were just not going to be met. We needed to take a different approach."

The ten page case study explores how C&W and Kineo partnered to deliver on three key business case objectives:

1.  Effective learning that delivered results to learners and business
2.  A model that reduced response time and development cost
3. Smart and innovative use of rapid tools

Results that speak for themselves.

Well over 4,000 of the various e-learning modules have now been completed.

The key feedback on the first major rapid e-learning initiative for C&W is as follows:

• Over 95% of respondents said that the micro site was an easy and engaging way to access the e-learning.
• 95% of responded that the e-learning was relevant and at the right level
• 93% felt they reached the desired level of understanding that the e-learning set out to provide them
• 96% would recommend the modules to other colleagues
