Editor's note:

Hi,

It’s that time of year again - time to get together with friends to celebrate, reflect and share. And those are the themes of this month’s issue:

-We share a free Rapid Guide on how to get the best from learning communities

-We talk communities and collaboration with a leading industry expert

-We look back over the year’s e-learning events and the predictions our experts made in January

-We plan to get out on the road with Learning Technologies and 2 Rapid E-learning seminars on February 13th – book now to hold your place

Who needs mulled wine when you can mull over all of this?

Finally on behalf of all the Kineo partners, I’d like to thank our clients, our friends and of course our amazing team of over 50 employees and associates for making 2007 such a successful year for Kineo. We wish you all a peaceful and happy Christmas and a great 2008.

This is for all of you: http://www.kineo.com/xmas_kineo1.swf

>> 2. Audio interview: George Siemens of elearnspace

Staying with learning communities, one man who has a lot to say about how we collaborate and share knowledge is George Siemens. He’s a highly respected thinker, writer and speaker on how technology and collaboration can change learning, and we caught up with him recently to get his latest thinking.

You can hear our audio conversation here:

>> 3. 2007 e-learning predictions: How did the experts do?

You know how it goes. Start of year, get out crystal ball. Ask experts what is going to happen. Then promptly forget to check predictions at end of the year. Fortunately we set an outlook reminder…we’ve dusted off those grand predictions from Jane Hart, Donald Clark, Charles Jennings and others to see if their January wish has come true this Christmas.

Check how they got on here:

>> 4. Market update: Review of the year

Many of those big predictions became a reality in the e-learning market, and as a result it’s been quite a year. Steve Rayson looks back over the big developments of 2007 in the e-learning market in the UK and US.

>> 5. Kineo on the road: Learning Technologies and February seminars:

We’re hitting the road in the New Year, so here are a few dates for your diary, if you can bear thinking about 2008 already:

Learning Technologies: Jan 30th and 31st at the Kensington Olympia in London

We’ll see you there on Stand 71, and also will be running a free seminar on ‘Rapid E-learning in the real world.’ We’ll explain, with the help of some of our clients, how rapid e-learning can make a real difference to your organisation.

Rapid E-learning workshops: Feb 13th at MLS, Covent Garden, London

We’ll be running two open workshops on Feb 13th at this central London venue.

The morning session will focus on Rapid E-learning for financial services, where we’ll showcase recent Rapid E-learning financial services and regulatory compliance solutions developed for our clients and explain how Rapid E-learning can deliver in these areas.

In the afternoon we’ll run a session on Rapid E-learning tools and techniques, where we’ll explain how you can bring Rapid E-learning into your business.

Attendance is free at these events, but space is limited. To assure your place and find out more, email us at info@kineo.com
