The Kineo Newsletter Editor's note Hi, It’s a big month for us at Kineo - our US office is up and running. We’ve been serving our clients in the US for over two years now, and having an office on the ground is our response to the growing demand for our services. Come and meet Cammy and more members of the Kineo US team at the upcoming seminars or at ASTD. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the road. We hope you enjoy this month’s top tips, market update, show reports and more. If you’ve any suggestions for future articles, get in touch. Best, Stephen
1. Kineo US: Meet us in DC, Boston and ChicagoWe’re up and running: Kineo US is open for business. We’re really looking forward to working on the ground with our current US clients, and to meeting many of you who’ve been in contact already. Come and meet us at ASTD International Conference and Exposition in Washington DC from May 31st to June 3rd. We’ll be sharing examples of our award-winning e-learning approach, and meeting many US clients and new friends. More info here. We’re also running three free seminars in the US in June: Boston, June 9th: It’d be great to see you at one of these events (and even greater to see you at all of them). Find out more here or email us at info@kineo.com for more. There are still just a few places left for these seminars, so please get in touch quickly if you’d like to attend. 2. Audio interview: Introducing our new VP of Learning Design, USWe’re thrilled to announce a key appointment to the Kineo US team. Cammy Bean has joined us as our VP of Learning Design. Cammy has over 15 years of experience as a learning designer and brings a wealth of experience and insight in effective learning design and project management. It’s great to have her as part of the team. So what does Cammy have to say about learning design? Quite a lot - and it’s coming at you from all directions. Subscribe to her blog, which is a great resource for anyone interested in learning design. Follow her on Twitter. And of course, Cammy will be there at ASTD and the Boston and Chicago seminars. Look out for a further key US team announcement shortly. 3. Making Articulate look great: Free Kineo skinRegular readers will know that we’re big fans of Articulate. It’s one of the better rapid e-learning tools out there. If you’re looking to develop engaging rapid e-learning you should definitely be looking at Articulate. To take it even further, we’ve developed a customized skin for Articulate, to apply a professional look and feel and some slick navigation. Articulate liked it so much it won an award. We like to share things that work. So we’re creating a generic version of our skin, and giving it away for free. All you need to do is come see us at ASTD, or any of the Boston or Chicago seminars, and we’ll set you up with access. Creating great-looking e-learning never came so easy. If you want to register interest in the skin, or set up a time to meet at ASTD, email us at contact@kineo.com 4. Top tips: Twitter – do you follow?Every week, we share an insight into learning design. We look at the new and emerging tools to figure out how you can make the most of them in your learning. This week we’ve been looking at Twitter. Cammy Bean invites you to follow her. Can’t hurt. See the Twitter tip and all of the other ones here. Or you could just jump aboard and follow us. We’ll keep it interesting. 5. Market update: The LMS market gets SaaSyWe like to keep you up to speed on the ever-changing learning technologies market. This month, our market update looks at the rising trend of Software as a Service(SaaS). We examine two recent reports on this subject, and we ask the question –SaaS, combined with open source solutions like Moodle about to turn the LMS market upside down? (Answer: yes). Read this month’s market update. 6. Event report: E-learning networkIt’s always good to get along to the E-learning Network shows in the UK. We recently presented, explaining how we use Articulate to create engaging e-learning. We share what we took away (and what we contributed, of course) in this month’s event report . 7. More awards: Kineo e-learning winAdding to the sliverware, we’re delighted to share that the module we developed for PricewaterhouseCoopers has won the prestigious Re:locate award for technological innovation Global Mobility e-learning. Describing this as an “exceptional” entry, the judges highlighted the product’s user-friendliness and effectiveness. As one judge said, “Outstanding: incredibly slick and professional – and it works.” We’re delighted for PwC - and a little pleased with ourselves too… |
