>> Editor's note:
November means E-learning Awards in the UK, and we had a great night at the ceremony in London last Thursday. We like a workout as much as the next person, so to be up and down to the stage four times in one night was fantastic. This month we share some pointers on learning models that underpin some of our award-winning work, and an update on one of the projects honoured at the awards. Congratulations to our clients, and to our great team – and of course, to everyone else who won awards on the evening. There’s some great work being done in this industry and we’re proud to be part of it (see, they don’t let you do acceptance speeches at awards shows so I have to get it out of my system here…) Stephen **Dates for your diary**

Free Guide: Learning Models - blueprints for designers What is e-learning design, and how do you do it? Which bit is science and which bit is art? We know that many of you sit in internal teams trying to figure out the answers to these questions. You might be reassured to know that we think about this a lot too. We’ve set out a series of blueprints for effective e-learning design, and pointers for putting them into practice. Whether you’re new to e-learning or a card-carrying member of the design squad – we think you’ll find something interesting in here. Get the Free Guide to Learning Models. 2. Case study: BP Operating Essentials We’ve partnered with BP to develop a series of performance changing, blended learning interventions in the critical area of safety and operations training. The results show a secured global adoption on a major scale, winning a silver award at the E-learning Awards for best e-learning project securing widespread adoption. In this updated case study, we look at the design approach, and also how the stakeholder management and marketing of the solution led to such great uptake globally in BP. Read the BP case study.
3. E-learning Awards: Four times honours for Kineo You’re getting the message by now: We managed to take home four of them. We’re mainly delighted for the four clients who took home awards with them on the night (yes, we’ve ordered doubles). You can read about what made all four projects worthy of awards in the case studies:
Kineo’s nominated candidate for outstanding achievement by an individual, Mike Booth of Cable&Wireless, also triumphed on the night. Well done to Mike and all of our clients and teams for their great work.

Event review: DevLearn 2011: What happens in Vegas… Last month, the US eLearning Guild hosted a week of learning in Las Vegas, Nevada. Get the lowdown on what went down from Cammy Bean, who always finds the loosest slots in town. Read the DevLearn show report.

Sometimes even we need a break from e-learning. And we like to unwind the same way as everyone else – by running a Jazz club on the side. (Yes, we’ve heard of hot baths. Didn’t like them). The next Jazz night features the Charlotte Glasson Band. They’re playing at The Basement in Brighton on 16th December 2011. It should be a great night featuring absolutely no PowerPoint. Come along if you’re in Brighton.
