"I love to work with training and development teams on the best way to use new methods."

"It all started in 1983 when I was a management trainer with the MaST Organisation. I helped make of one of the first ever interactive videos and I got the bug. Even though I have designed and implemented over a hundred interactive learning projects, I have never forgotten the importance of people in the equation.

My years as Head of Consulting at Epic working with a vast range of organisations helped me learn that technology can really gain from the human touch and vice versa. Kineo is a great place to see how the old and new can converge to create something that is more than the sum of its parts. It’s a real pleasure to work with such talented colleagues to produce an ideal environment for all of us to do great things."

Want to know more about Mark look at his favourite websites. Find out where he surfs for fun.

"I don’t know about you but I just don’t quite spend the time that others (like my colleagues) do browsing the more unusual web offerings. So, here are some sites for people like me who want information and want it now. They are also sites that are written with style and a sense of fun. No ego-driven blogs here, folks!

The Beeb

www.bbc.co.uk

No surprises here – my home page for years, despite my colleague, Steve Rayson’s very sensible suggestions to create my own Google home page see  http://www.kineo.com/ideas/google-homepages-a-knowledge-revolution.html for more. But for the moment, I just like to see a snapshot of the news and, more importantly, all those radio panel games I’ve missed in the daytime through their excellent Radio Player archives http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/

It just has to be one of the most useful websites ever created (after the Kineo one of course), well worth the UK licence payer’s money. So, it’s especially good for all of you outside the UK who don’t have to support it!

The encyclopedia of informal education

http://www.infed.org/encyclopaedia_index.htm#s

Next is a great site for all the learning theory bluffers out there. Beautifully laid out, well written with a really easy indexing system. Especially good for those (like me) who feel that informal learning is a massive untapped world for us to explore. Take a look at my report on Informal Learning for more on this: http://www.kineo.com/shop/reports/kineo_informal_learning.pdf

Stephen’s Web and e-learningguru.com

http://www.downes.ca/
http://www.e-learningguru.com

OK so I said that I didn’t like ego-driven blogs. That’s why I like what Stephen and Kevin Kruse (the e-learningguru!) have been doing here for years – finding the best of what’s out there and pointing us to it without too much bias in their copy. Too many people have too many agendas to ever be sure about what you read out there is the truth (e.g. the overhyping of e-learning for the last decade.)

Stephen’s site feels reassuringly homemade and Kevin’s site has become increasingly commercial in feel. But both have served the e-learning and blended learning industry fantastically with their rich links to sources of online information.

The downside though for people like me is that there’s enough stuff here to keep you occupied for several years. So, if you are pushed for time, trust us at Kineo to keep you informed on the key trends….

Simplyscripts.com and Writemovies.com

http://www.simplyscripts.com
http://www.writemovies.com/scripts_a.htm

Finally, something completely different. For any movie buff these are two fantastic sites. They provide a vast selection of movie scripts for free and so next time you rent out Aliens you can follow the full script and know just when to close your eyes!"
