ASTD TechKnowledge 2012 Wrap-up

Rio signWhat happens in Vegas should never stay in Vegas.  At least not when it’s a learning conference, right?

This year’s ASTD Tech Knowledge 2012 was held at the Rio in Las Vegas, featuring great keynote sessions from Jane McGonigal, Stuart Crabb of Facebook, and Lisa Doyle of the Veterans’ Administration.  With a conference program that was chock full, participants had a tough time deciding which sessions to attend: there were concurrent sessions and creation stations, TK Chats (informal conversation with industry experts on varied topics), and endless hallway conversations.

ASTD TechKnowledge 2012 Preview

While our UK colleagues prepare for Learning Technologies in London, our US team sets their sights, once again, on Las Vegas, baby. It’s ASTD’s TK12, a convergence of 1,500 learning professional from all over the US and the world. The main conference runs January 25-27, 2012.

DevLearn 2011

This year, the eLearning Guild hosted a week of learning in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Vegas tagline: “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” – but that’s not the case when you put a bunch of learning professionals together who are eager to share.

European Totara LMS Conference event review

The first European Totara LMS conference took place in London in September 2011. Steve Rayson reports on a day which saw case studies from Tesco and MediaPharm and the unveiling of an exciting new product roadmap for Totara, a custom distribution of Moodle designed for the corporate enterprise market.

Articulate Storyline - sneak preview event review

Storyline is the latest development tool shortly to be launched by Articulate. You may be familiar with Articulate already.  Their products are among the most used desktop tools out there and ones that we at Kineo use every day. Storyline is not a replacement for Articulate Studio: it’s a totally different product - and we have been working with a Beta version to see what it can do.

Professional Bodies Wise-up to Moodle

Kineo organised a Moodle workshop for professional bodies this week. If this is an area you've not come across before, professional bodies are non-profit organisations which aim to further their respective professions by balancing the needs of individuals within the profession with safeguarding the public interest in relation to that profession. Many professional bodies are involved in professional education programs and professional certification, hence their keen interest in learning management systems like Moodle.

DevLearn 09: Show report

The eLearning Guild’s DevLearn ’09 in San Jose, California was a non-stop west coast jamboree of e-learning tools, talks and tradeshow. We set up our booth Tuesday afternoon and didn’t stop until we boarded our flights home on Friday afternoon.

Our key takeway? E-learning is alive and well and living in California. Ok, we can be a bit more specific. From the Expo, to e-learning karaoke, to the sessions, here’s some of what we soaked up.
