We’ve been talking a lot this month. First off, thanks to all of you who visited us at our stand and our seminars at Learning Technologies in London at the end of January. It was a buzzing show, and it was great to chat with so many clients, fellow professionals and make new friends.
We were a little hoarse after that, but that didn’t stop us launching My Kineo, our free new support service for corporate e-learning professionals, and running the first free webinar for that.
We’re sharing a free guide to go with the launch of My Kineo – all about managing your e-learning stakeholders more effectively.
We’ve had great discussions with gurus on lessons from Walgreens and 3D e-learning this month. Put on your 3D glasses (or perhaps don’t) and listen in.
And if we have any breath left, come and join us at one of our upcoming Webinars over the coming month.
Talk soon (predictably enough),
1. Free guide: managing stakeholders in e-learning
You don’t need us to tell you that if you don’t identify, connect with, and manage your stakeholders, your e-learning project isn’t going to get very far. But are you thinking about all of the potential stakeholders, and developing plans to manage each? If so – well, look at you. If not (and maybe even if so), our free insight guide and stakeholder management tool can help.
Find out more on managing e-learning stakeholders.
2. My Kineo: new free service for corporate e-learning professionals
Our free guide this month is a sample of what you can get from our new service: My Kineo.
My Kineo is Kineo’s free new support service - an e-learning workbench for corporate e-learning professionals and teams. In it you’ll find over 30 “how to” guides, examples and templates to help you develop your e-learning skills, access to live Kineo webinars focused on key challenges in e-learning, discussion forums where you can ask questions and share with peers and experts, and request peer review or support on a specific project.
We’re inviting people in the US, UK and beyond who are part of learning teams in organizations to join up – for free. Get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
3. Audio interviews
We had the pleasure of catching up with two great e-learning gurus this month:
Anne Marie Laures: Anne is recently retired Director of Learning Services at Walgreens, US retail giant. We discussed some of the best practices she put in place in over 30 years guiding Walgreen’s Learning Services Group.
You can hear the interview here.
Karl Kapp: Professor Karl Kapp is an expert in learning in virtual worlds and 3D learning environments. So much so that he just wrote a book on the subject, co-authored with Tony O’Driscoll. He tells us why 3D and virtual worlds are worth a second look (maybe even in Second Life – remember that?)
Listen in to the discussion here.
4. Top tips: why theory is good for you
We’re all about getting things done at Kineo. But that doesn’t mean we’re averse to a little grounding in theory. Find out why brushing up on the books is good for you in this month’s top e-learning tip.
5. Market update: What $1.1bn gets you these days
What price an e-learning company? $1.1bn sounded good to us. Oh, don't worry. We haven't been bought. If we had $1.1bn you might find the newsletter would come out a little less often. But that was the price that a private equity company paid to acquire Skillsoft last week. Why? Find out in this month’s e-learning market update.
6: Upcoming Kineo webinars: Open source, Moodle, internal teams
